onWASHINGTON, Jan. 10 — President Bush will announce tonight that he is sending more than 21,000 American troops to Iraq to quell the violence there, while conceding for the first time that he provided neither enough troops nor enough resources to control the chaos in Iraq last year…Mr. Bush and his top advisers are acutely aware that their new strategy, only 13 months after they unveiled a “Plan for Victory” that was never executed, marks the last chance that the president may have to get Iraq right.
The speech begins at 6 p.m. PST. Details on his new plan here.
UPDATE: Over at Horsesass, Rep. Adam Smith (D-WA) rejects the president’s plan in advance of the speech.

Just what we need more cannon fodder in Iraq.
It's not a plan, or a strategy.
It's a tactic.
And it won't work, as anyone who has any experience in counter-terrorism could tell you if you actually interviewed them instead of the Liar-in-Chief.
I love how his explanation for the tremendous fuckup that is Iraq is that we didn't blow MORE money and troops on it. Whee.
Not "I was wrong about WMD." Not "I was wrong about Al-Qaeda influence." Not "I was wrong about being welcomed into open arms." No, it's "I didn't fuck up EXPENSIVELY enough."
