New Year Resolutions

posted by on January 2 at 9:42 AM

Just got back from the holidays in Northern Michigan where the coffee looks like tea, vegetables are out of season, and reheated frozen shrimp with red cocktail sauce is really something special. My Uncle Dan had the best New Years resolve I’ve heard yet: “I just don’t plan to get any worse.”

Oh Gee Whiz Kelly O - what kind of precious earrings does your mom have in this picture?

Maria - that's actually my Aunt. Aunt Roach. The funniest Midwesterner to ever tell a dirty joke. Hmm, I think her earrings were naked Saint Nicks, lift up the Santa hat to see the surprise...

Geez, Kelly O., you had to go all the way to Northern Michigan for that? Heck, I had EXACTLY the same kind of Christmas (seriously - on all three counts!), and I only had to take a 2 1/2 hour drive south on I-5.

Except, I don't think my mom would ever wear a sweatshirt like that - unless her new husband starts having some really adverse reactions to his chemo treatments.

To # 6: You did not have the EXACT kind of Christmas Kelly O did. You know why I know this? 'Cause Kelly got a Scoozie. Plus, I am the Queen of Mac 'n Cheese and Kelly wouldn't eat any stinkin' shrimp even if it came directly off the boat on a silver plater! And Kelly spoofs (she brought us goddamn Seattle coffee and she's the one who put too much Bailey's in it!!). Hey Kelly O, who gained the most weight?
