As a result, Iraq has little if any on-the-street law enforcement personnel or a functioning judicial system free of corruption, they said.

Justice Department officials, they said, should lead the work of transforming the system. Police executives and supervisors should replace the military police personnel now assigned.

And the FBI should expand its investigative and forensic training in Iraq, Hamilton and Meese told the panel.

Thats the last thing my platoon needs. We got all these knuckleheads who yes may have some military back ground come in and clean up. Sure is going to change the thinking of the populace. The cops were real good in stopping riots in the 1960s. They live for that. Come over here with your batons and shields and tell that Sunni to stop atagonizing the shiites. And if you know the tactical logistics, of a war zone cops have at it. The M.P.s of the army have good training in these areas. And can mix with the people a lot better, than some snoopy agent antagonizing the situation, by busting these peoples balls. Then us troops got to come in and save your ass while , some wanna b fbi agent dusts the bombed out homes of streets for fingerprints. Its a war. There is no time to be going around trying to figure out what side killed who CSI style. It doesn't matter who did it. We all know whos behind it. We just have to sit around and play referee.
Sure we can use a hand, but to come in and start giving us soldiers orders. It'll be to many Chiefs in the Kitchen, calling the kettle black.
Sorry, just venting. I got some friends in my old platoon over there. And its like everyone is saying we mucked this up sometimes. We just do what were told and improvise, and its a War, turned into a fiasco. We should just come home. We should never had gotten involved in an old fight that wasn't ours. We should work out things a little more diplomatically, and honestly next time. If not, then we might as well Blitzkrieg the whole freaking desert. I mean we got two groups were trying to keep from killing eachother, and the Sunnis and Shiites are fragging my boys from both sides.
And whats so great that We now got to escalate the tension of the people we came to liberate in the first place. Kurds and Shiites, from the big bad Baath machine of Saddam. This is crazy, and the Iraq study group wants to send cops?

"Bad boys, Bad boys...whats ya gonna do? whats ya gonna do when they come for you?"lol keep your head down 4th infantry.

Hey, I just discovered a blog site that covers the Chicago Public Library. Is there anyone out there who wants to start a blog regarding the Seattle Public Library? There's lots of things to discuss: pro and con. Anyone?
