Life Keep Your Fork, There’s Pie

onJanuary 23rd is National Pie Day.
Bake a pie tonight, share it with your friends tomorrow.
A nice slice of good apple pie is my favorite, warm, with a scoop of ice cream. Annie Wagner prefers tangy berry pies. Jen Graves says strawberry-rhubarb is the best. She’s wrong.
Regardless, we should all eat pie tomorrow.

Nonsense. Pi(e) day is 3/14.
Or July 22nd if you're in Europe.
Not the best choice of date. I would have put it on March 14th.
OK, it has to be said...
my favorite is hair pie!
(inner high school freshman coming out)
I grew up on straight rhubarb pie. My mom used to grow rhubarb in the backyard. The strawberry-rhubarb is very strange to me, too sweet.
Yes, pie day is March 14th. The ideal time to eat pie on that day, of course, is 27 seconds after 1:59...
Nothing is better than straight rhubarb pie. Nothing. Strawberries if you must, but ten times better without.
With vanilla ice cream, Fnarf. Nothing is better than strawberry rhubarb pie with vanilla ice cream.
Is this a metaphor? Like how President's Day is really just an excuse for Macy's to have a white sale? Am I supposed to buy new sheet and towels, or what?
It is interesting, however, to know that there is an American Pie Council. Clubs that both people and companies can belong to are always something of minor note.
...Wish I could get some rhubarb pie.
Raspberry pie is phenomenal, but impossible to buy and expensive as hell to make.
FYI, Dan, since you go to Saugatuck semi-frequently, Crane's Orchard in Fenville (which is nearby) makes the best raspberry pie in the world, as well as some damn tasty individual rhubarb tarts, among other amazing baked goods.
Definitely strawberry-rhubarb pie, and definitely with rich vanilla ice cream.
Some pies are for the eating. Some pies are for the throwing. Bake pie to power and pie a stupid public figure today!
Graves and Savage are 100% correct.
It's true. Strawberry + Rhubarb = sweet bliss.

Cherry pie's not bad, either!!
I LOVE Strawberry Rhubarb Pie!!!!!!!!
Jen Graves, you don't know shit about it. You just picked the one Hostess ain't made yet, ya fuckin' try hard. Eat a fuckin' shit pie and be unique like everyone else.
As a Midwesterner, I feel obligated to stick up for the lesser-known, less-healthy pies of the world: chocolate pie, peanut butter pie, chocolate chip pie, oatmeal pie....
Me like Pie!
Mmmmmmmm! Piiiiiiieeeeee!
My mum made a throw-some-elbows blueberry pie. Vanilla ice por supuesto.
Don't skip Greenbank Farm next time you're on Whidbey Island. Pies, pies, pies! Who else is gonna serve you a slice of loganberry pie then a glass of loganberry wine? Nutso.
O'Brien's Turkey House just off I-5 at the Arlington exit makes a pretty nice pie as well. Go, it's a fun place; you'll be the only people under 65 in the joint.
Marionberry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
my granny made the best apple pie in the world, careful mix of cinnamon and secret spices, sliced apples and home made pie shell made with lard and the result was flake heaven beyond belief ... she was a southern girl who worked in some of the better commercial kitchens of Seattle in her time ...
always served hot with a slice of the finest American cheddar cheese and a dollop of perfect whipped cream
all you sugar freaks are mis-guided
then there is the REAL DEAL mince meat pie made with venison ......
and butternut squash pie that all thought was pumpkin, embellished with pecans and secret spices .... made with a many egg custard base
and to say I miss her is an understatement ..... because she also made from old family receipts a five layer chocolate devil cake with lemon filling .... and I was her favorite grandson
