Was it fun? Which part - Italian, German, or French? I find the French and Italian parts are pretty good, but the German section can be difficult to adjust to, even if one is fluent.
my soon to be fiance was an au pair in germany, where we met.
we didn;t get along at all, supposedly because i'm a pretentious ass (her words) but more likely because i was a male slut. the germanic half of CH is not easy to break into, especially as an american. but once you do, you're (almost)in like flint. i miss my DE/CH
It was terrible. I quit after two weeks. The father was a complete sexist, the kids were horrible brats, and I found myself mopping the floors while the brats watched TV so that the mother could try on her dresses before going shopping for new ones. French Switzerland. Upper-class as all hell. I'd have stayed, though, if I'd have been a maid. (I was also a hotel maid for a summer -- and that I did not quit.)
Oh, well, that can be worse. Being a hotel maid at a resort can be ok, depending on your work hours.
