I would never expect a comment like that while watching American Idol

"I think I made out with him"

I'm still laughing.

What the hell is wrong with you? Why have you made like 20 diffrent one sentence posts in the last 3 hours? Stop it! It's annoying the shit out of me.

This is called "live-slogging." It looks super annoying if you're not involved. Scrolling down a lot is your best bet for the next 14 minutes.

It doesn't just look super annoying, it IS super annoying. Kinda like atrios.blogspot.com ("Fresh thread. Rock On!") except there aren't hundreds of comments and pictures of a goddam sleeping cat.

I did not even realize you were Live Slogging the American Idol thingy or whatever...but isn't there a better way to Live Slog?

This could become a real problem if EVERY Slogger starts doing this.

Imagine Erica Barnett Live Slogging a City Council meeting on whether the City should put new development standards in place that would create parking minumums in the commerical land use code. Like..."and then Peter said.. and then Drago says..then Sally makes a joke...then Jean corrects someones spelling.. and then Chris Lehman gives testimony on an unrelated topic.. and then MCIver wakes up..and then the Mayor's staff person sitting in the office rolls their eyes.. etc., etc."

Imagine if Josh starts Live Slogging about everything he is doing every moment while waiting for the Governor to come out of behind closed meetings in Olympia. I can imagine, "so and so staffer just walked by... I just went pee... I have a new scab from itching my butt and waiting... coffee in the capitol building sucks.. blah, blah, blah..."

Imagine if various other Stranger writers Live Slogged stupid thing people said and did while sitting in the Starnger office like, "..Somebody ate pop rocks.. Somebody said something funny... Etc. Etc

Generally, you all are on the verge of this kind of behaviour now and there must be a better way to manage your Slog in my humble opinion. I am happy to scroll through the stuff I don't care about and will continue to do that BUT....there is a point at which you all might just want to *Think before you Blog* (Do people really care about your every thought and action during the day..do we really need a live commentary on YOUR reality tv show? And perhaps create a side link for important or interesting Live Blogs on things like American Idol.

It's just a managment and process issue really.
