How does a filmmaker acquire the "qualifications for making a homosexually-themed film?" Is there a certificate program at Seattle Central?

This is clearly a parody of the campaign to snuff The Last Temptation of Christ. I hope.

I don't think a good Lovecraft film has ever been made. Making a mediocre one would be a huge accomplishment.

Gods. I am a Lovecraft fan and have worked with the Lovecraft Film Festival in Portland for years. I think this movie is an interesting project and the early trailer looked really well-made. Don't let this loser represent a typical Lovecraft nerd.

Why is it the nutcases who have something to say always have to say it in as many words as possible? I'm getting to old to read through stuff like that.

God, I hope this is some kind of weird parody...

If not a parody I wonder if he gets into a similar fit of nerdrage over the film "Dagon" actually being a version of "The Shadow Over innsmouth" rather than the story of the same name. Or the fact that almost all films directly based on a Lovecraft work suck ass. Or the depiction of Cthulhu as a cuddly plush toy...

According to good ol' Wikipedia:

In Lovecraft's fiction, R'lyeh is sometimes referred to in the ritualistic phrase "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn", which roughly translates to "In his house at R'lyeh dead Cthulhu waits dreaming"

is that Welsh?

IIRC it's Pnakotic, a language predating the human race...

Sorry. nerd reflex.

Strange. I could have sworn I'd seen that on a road sign just outside of Cwmllechwedd or Llanrhaeadr-yng-Nghinmeirch

This is clearly a parody of the campaign to snuff The Last Temptation of Christ. I hope.

Or the various email campaigns to stop the non-existant "gay Jesus" movie.

Napoleon, isn't that just outside of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch?

Or, it's just more viral marketing, and you're either knowingly presenting it [that's bad] or presenting it out of ignorance to actually mock it [that's bad.]

This sort of newspaper "reporting" is what is commonly mocked as blogging...

I'm sad to see it coming from the stranger, not that said paper is an example of quality writing.

Every passing week, I get better information and more reliable data from blogs than from papers.
