Of course, the Salvadoran Bakery has a million excellent dessert selections. Well worth the trip at any time. The Tres Leches cake is boom shakalaka very delish.

Great place....the top reason we need to annex that neighborhood to Seattle...

El Salvadoran also has amazing beef soup with whole corncob pieces and tender beef in rich broth served with the Salvadoran tortilla, a thick wheat pancake. Comes with a kind of slaw. Try the breakfasts, too.

And White Center is really only 15 minutes if you go via Delridge.

yeah, pupusas - there are eight pupusarias on my street here in DC and i am very willing to trade my sleekness for one of those tasty disks-o-joy every day. apparently there's been a movement to make pupusas DC's official food...one can only dream.

Fortunately for those of us who recognize the existence of life off the Hill, White Center is not "far, far away."
