To paraphrase Barbie, brain-teasers are tough! (Reprinted verbatim from haha.nu.) Answers below the jump.

It is unusual though. Study it, and think about it, but you still may not find anything odd. But if you work at it a bit, you might find out! Try to do so without any coaching!

...except for #4: if the barrel's big enough, you could also just sit both jugs inside the barrel.
@2: Seriously, I kinda felt bad calling you a troll in the Obama smokes thread. Thought about putting in a late apology, since many of your comments in that thread seemed well-thought out and expressed, which is pretty rare in comment threads anywhere.

On #4, you can also just freeze one jug without coloring any water. then put both in the barrel, and the frozen water floats . . .

I got 1 and 10 correct right away. And I answered 6 the way thehim @ 9 did and think it's a better answer. But that's all because I have ADD and if I don't get this sort of thing right away I pass over it. That probably makes me more of a geek than a nerd...
