Countdown to Black History Month

Just seven days away from Black History Month! Time to start thinking about the things blacks have done in history. Today we begin with an incident that happened on June, 25, 1807, at around 6 am.

In a room that’s small and drafty, a black man wakes up and sees the sun rising in the sky. He cant remember his dream. A piece of something he ate the night before is caught between the teeth near the back of his mouth. He yawns and goes back to sleep for another 10 minutes.
This moment in black history was brought to you by The Stranger.

She shudders as he picks a piece of last night's dinner from his teeth. He should have brushed before going to bed.

Interesting that the scrawniest guy in that picture is the one holding the chain. Nicely done.

Welcome to the magic of Boney M, the earlier pop-disco version of Milli Vanilli. The singer on the records is the same German guy who made the Milli Vanilli records; like them, the folks in the picture were dancers, and barely involved. Fantastic stuff, never caught on in the USA.

Yay! I'm kicking off Black History Month by doing my first full-head weave on the 3rd! Really, I couldnt be more excited!

One of my favorite moments in "Touching the Void" is when the stranded climber gets a Boney M song stuck in his head. He knows if he isn't rescued in the next few hours, he's gonna die. And Boney M will be the soundtrack to his death. Suffice to say, "Touching the Void" is just as scary as "The Descent."
