Aisha, the Passive-Aggressive Hippy

posted by on January 26 at 15:44 PM

So I came home last night, tired and hungry, to find NOT one, but TWO of these giant notes duct-taped to my apartment building’s entry way.

sign-1.jpg

If you can’t read it, click here.

Now call me crazy, but this note seems vengeful. “Aisha” seems to want everyone in our building to know that this boy has an STD. She also, obviously, wants the boy to know that now everyone ELSE knows. The warning to our “little community” - to “please be careful now” is also probably a little unnecessary. I don’t think we are all having unprotected sex with our building mates. Or maybe some neighbors are bumpin, but they sure haven’t invited me.

Anyway - the most baffling part is the “PEACE” sign-off at the end. It’s like putting a smiley face emoticon at the of an obituary. Aisha, if you’re gonna get angry, GET ANGRY. Do it. Do it right. Don’t be such a wimplette… all sensitive, all CONFLICTED. He probably would have made flyers with a giant picture of your face, that said “AISHA GAVE ME THE CLAP!” You know he would have. If you’re gonna survive, girl, you gotta toughen up. Okay? I’m just sayin :)

What's wrong with a little vengeance?

Dude, that is such hippie revenge. I think writing a note like that that is psuedo-caring is even MORE evil and vengeful than just writing a big note that says "This asshole gave me an STD - make him feel like shit," because this way it's harder for people to point out how fucking bitchy and vengeful this really is of her. Devilish.

Peace, Pez is just another way to say "later yall" Its not really a hippie thing. Unless of course Aisha is no longer a popular name with African American girls.

There is just something wrong with apartment dwellers who leave notes for their neighbors. I got one slid under my door from a known crazy who wanted to build solidarity on the second floor. She previously had a note on her door accusing people of entering her apartment and moving things around when she wasn't home. I do have cheap rent tho.

The propper thing to do is to print out a photo of the bastard (Naked if you have it) with big red letter "THIS LYING BASTARD GAVE ME THE CLAP AND HE LIVES IN APT X"

This reminds me of a sign I found printed to our bus stop in Rainier Beach last year. It was typed and printed on laser paper, informed bus riders that "LATISHA IS A HOE AND SHE WILL LIE ABOUT HERSELF AND GIVE MEN STDS YOUVE BEEN WARNED"

It was awesome.

It's not just your building - those notes are all over Capitol Hill today. I saw a few of these per block on poles and telephone boxes along Pine.

Whew. I thought it was just directed at my building. An even more poorly-executed vengeance.

I don't think "passive-aggressive" means what you think it means.

Seems like everyone these days labels anything but an all-out assault as "passive-aggressive."

I ranted about this a day or two ago.

You know, it's always possible that she's a psycho liar herself. But whether it's true or not, what good does this do if she doesn't ID the boy? Is she thinking about a possible libel suit?

Good to see "hippie" has become synonymous
with "evil", and that you cleverly realized "Aisha" as one of the first hippie names.

When does the Stranger really take it to the next level and start mocking the hipsters? "they buy wretched condos where your beloved ChaCha once stood".

Haha, stupid evil hipsters ruining Seattle.
