Hey, Mike in Mo: winter doesn't start for another week.

Did anyone get some hi-fi audio recordings of the storm? I listened in the dark for about two hours, sounded like a very dramatic instrumental opera, Partch-esque - atonal strings 'breathing' in swells of crescendo perhaps from the winds section, incidental percussion of rain pellets slashing the roof and windows, obnoxious interruptions of porch furniture rearranging itself (a little dissonance is good, i guess). So many movements!

Sorry Fnarf (Mr. "Cardinals have no chance against the vaunted Tigers).

Allow me to rephrase. Is this the worst mid to late fall ever?

I'd say in Seattle, the worst weather starts a month before the solstice and ends a month before the equinox. So I'd say a fair definition of winter in Seattle is November 21-February 21.

Anyway, I doubt it's the worst winter ever. No bridges have sunk, for instance. Houses have yet to slide into the Puget Sound. Although we've still got a few months to work on that, and the ground is appropriately saturated.

Oh, Charles, you are causing me two intense pains there. I might even have to slog about it.
