Laffhole? I love it. It made me laugh.
Seattle International Film Festival? Double check.
double checked, and corrected.
A stand up night? I'll be the judge of that. Does anyone get called Ni@#er?
Three things.
1) I don't think that I'd go so far as to say that The Stranger has stopped hating stand-up comedy...but, I have to say that in the past three months The Stranger has stopped ignoring it. That's something...
2) The month-long event that just finished up is called the Seattle International Comedy Competition. As so ably pointed out by Cienna Madrid, it was many things to many people...but a "Festival," hardly...
3) The show actually DID include a couple people who were in the competition--including the host of the late show (Dartanion London) and an unexpected guest in that late show (Emmett Montgomery.) Also, the headliner of the early show, Meghan Hounshell (who is of legal drinking age, herself) was a semi-finalist in last year's competition.
