Today in Stranger Suggests

posted by on December 6 at 10:06 AM

From the brain productions of Dan the Automator we get Dr. Octagon, Handsome Boy Modeling School, Deltron 3030, Gorillaz, and Lovage. In the way Tarantino reanimated the dead careers of Hollywood actors (Harvey Keitel, John Travolta), Dan the Automator reanimated the dead careers of hiphop rappers (Del tha Funkee Homosapien, Kool Keith). Tonight, Chali 2na of Jurassic Five and Casual of Heiroglyphics will join the Automator on stage. Opening will be our own Common Market. (Neumo’s, 925 E Pike St, 709-9442. 8 pm, $15 adv, all ages.) wish I could make it. Kool Kieth rocks. Dans got the grooviest melodies. Yes, I like my hip hop beats to sound like melodies. And the Automator and Kool Kieth provide just that. 'Diesel Truck Hip hop 'I call it. Being stationed down south it was always 'dirty south' rap( DJ. Screw was ok, the brothers on base always had a jam from him in there cars) and little john "oh yeaaaah" got on my nerves. Purchased 4 discs from Dan Automator in killeen music store and from limewire and bumped it loud all over Austin Texas whenever I could. Kool kieths
"Get off my elevator" from office space soundtrack was what got me hooked.

Actually, Common Market IS on the show tonight

Chali2na(of Jurassic 5), Casual (of Heiroglyphics) and AG aren't opening, they are IN Dan's band. Supposedly they are performing music from the Gorillaz, Handsome Boy Modeling School, etc.
