Life The Return of the Birds

Belongs to this bird:
The bird is, as you can see, no more. It is a dead thing. It’s murderer is not the windstorm but a hawk that wanted to make a quick meal of it. For reasons that will forever remain, like death, a mystery, the hawk changed its mind and dumped its kill on the sidewalk. Because the hawk is picky, the pigeon is now garbage. The leaves around it are also dead. The clouds above are thick and slow. And somewhere deep in the universe there is an orb of ice with a crack in it. That crack creaks now and then. Also deep in space there is a star the size of Manhattan. That star is alone and glows for nothing.

OMG
The hawk did NOT change it's mind.
Yo, I was there and I saw the whole thing, yo. The crows chased away the hawk. So scribble me this Mudede: why are the crows sticking up for the pigeons?
The pigeon symbolizes- just like last night's show- the death of hip hop as an inner city art form and the birth of it as a college somewhat intelectual types/ hippie/family/ granola/suburban one. Rap and the Game rule the inner city. Sad but true.
just like b boying was replaced by krumping.. hip hop and pigeons are dead to the inner city.
You lost me at the "orb of ice" bit. A complete left turn from the death bit.
lovely, mudede. thank you.
I would imagine the crows were just trying to steal the hawk's prey; that's what they do. They'll either be picking at the pigeon for a while, or they changed their minds.
"And he's carrying a beautiful rose in his beak, and also he's carrying a very beautiful painting with his feet. And also, you're drunk."
This reminds me of stuff I used to write when I was depressed in high school.
Does anyone wanna switch seats?
Wells, you mean "emo" in high school. :p
Umm, dreamy and poetic anyone?
Um, what's this about a star as small as Manhattan? That sounds off by a factor of thousands to me. Stars are big.
man..that reminds me of this website from like 1996 that had morbid poetry juxtapozed with pictures of roadkilled cats..does anyone else remember that website?
WTF?
OK! Ok!
it is a pigeon. There are thousands of the dirty things.
Hawks eat thing like that.
Are you crying? You are aren't you?
My friend, it is not only possible to solve the crime posted here, but, furthermore, it has already been solved. I will explain how this happened.
I was home enjoying a cup of tea with my good friend, a certain Mr. D, when a messenger arrived in the foyer.
"Whatever is the matter with you?" I stated.
"Look." He handed me a paper. In the paper I read the bird post, which had been printed from the messenger's master's computer.
"Ahem, Mr. D," I stated. I handed him the paper.
"A very interesting case," stated D. At this he scratched his whiskers.
"Perhaps we should take a drive," I suggested.
"Yes," stated D, arising, "I think that's a marvelous idea.
So we drove to the site; it was dark, unfortunately, but only partly dark; in fact it was a twilight gloam.
D inspected the bird. He frowned. "Rudy," he beckoned, pointing to the ground, "you see that can?"
"Certainly."
"Rudy," he repeated, "we have to eliminate the impossible. For example, that this bird was put down by a beer can."
"How do you figure?"
"Well," he continued, "this can is empty, see. And it was empty before falling."
"Well, I don't see any beer spilled on the ground."
"Exactly. Okay, moving on. Now, supposedly, this bird was killed by a hawk. But then, supposedly, the hawk had suddenly decided to abandon, rather mysteriously, its juicy new prey."
"So it is written."
"So is is written, yes. But it could be a lie."
"It's certainly not impossible."
"No, not yet. Therefore, we shall inspect, or perform an analysis on the post as it was written."
"Oh, I suppose. But what motive, do you suppose, that the author would have for lying."
"Shush, it is not the motive that interests us, not at all, but the pure facts of the matter."
"So it is possible that the author was deceived."
"Yes, it is possible. But it is also possible that he lied on purpose for some obscure reason. We simply don't know. Egads!"
"What is it?"
"I believe I have solved the crime."
"But D, you have not even yet inspected the post."
"No, I didn't have to. I simply analyzed what had been kept in my memory. Oh god, it's so simple."
"Please D, please tell me what is it."
"The picture, the picture. The picture of the bird does not correspond with what I have before me. This bird is a fake!"
