If the R's re-take the Senate, I say we go completely ape and not just on blogs.

Re: Tim Johnson

This is almost as bad as when the CIA assassinated Paul Wellstone (D-MN, RIP).

Re: Troop increase

We’re at almost exactly the same point as when LBJ called for a massive escalation to “win” the Vietnam War, which lasted another ten years before the fall of Saigon and left millions dead. Are we really going to do this again?

I thought Paul Wellstone died because of his pilot's confusion in a terrible winter storm with hardly any visibility.

Goddamn Port of Seattle is run by moronic assholes. $18 mil for a brand new cruise terminal they're going to tear down now.

And those cruise ships? How do you feel about slavery? Those foreign-registered ships are staffed (below decks) with people from the poorest countries in the world, earning pennies if anything for eighteen hours a day, forbidden to ever leave the ship. AND they dump millions of gallons of sewage into Puget Sound and pay trivial fines for the privilege, fines that cost less than the price of unloading it legally. Jobs? Yeah, a handful of minimum-wage service jobs. It would be a better economic deal for the taxpayers to just write them checks and skip the working part.

FUCK THE CRUISE SHIPS.

Re: Death Penalty

I'm just thinking, in the best of all possible worlds, a twice convicted murderer really deserves two executions. They should have revived this piece of filth, offered him another last meal and then got out the really big syringe.
