Success Is Ours!

posted by on December 29 at 12:56 PM

George W. Bush hasn’t failed to capture Osama—that’s just “a success that hasn’t occurred yet,” according to an administration official.

Success That Hasn’t Occurred Yet isn’t just for Bush apologists—hey, it’s game we all can play!

The Cubs haven’t failed to win the World Series for decades—that’s just a success that hasn’t occurred yet.

I haven’t failed to sleep with Brad Pitt—that’s just a success that hasn’t occurred yet.

Jesus Christ hasn’t failed to turn Ted Haggard straight—that’s just a miracle that hasn’t occurred yet.

I'm not dying of AIDS. It's just a cure that hasn't occurred yet.

I have yet to get in a bathtub full of Count Chocula cereal and milk. Maybe someday.

CNN has pulled the linked page. I guess they're busy contorting themselves yoga-style trying to make the Bush Ass-ministration look remotely competent; it's a success that hasn't happened yet.

Where's my giant stack of gold bars? That's a success that hasn't occurred yet.

I saw the other day that Bush and Co. were having a non-decisional meeting on Iraq.

Is there any chance that in my lifetime I will see another president that speaks English? There's a success that hasn't occurred yet that I would like to see.

The Shrub has a time machine. its all perfectly explainable. in fact there is a time travel field around all of Iraq which is repeating the same week over and over.
excuse me, I sense some vomit I haven't puked yet.

I know that the hoof I have growing out of my spine will go away, but that's a success that hasn't occurred yet.

Try to knock me over, though; I'm back up on my feet faster than you can see. That's just the silver lining.

There's reality.

And then there's the special version of reality we see in the Red House that the Bushies use - the kind most of us call living in a delusional fantasy.

I don't mind the restated version (though vehement insistence on its use would be annoying). It isn't logically incongruent, anyway, unlike some other things we hear from the administration.

I wish the link still worked so that I could read the transcript.
