boy, these "gay in the middle east" stories are fucking depressing.
One thing that I found amusing was the name of the gay bar (Queen Boat). I get a kick out of the names of these places...
The strange thing about homosexuality in the Middle East is, as I understand it, there's always been a long tradition of acceptable homosexuality there. See the wikipedia article on "Homosexuality and Islam" for references going back to ancient times. While Western-style "gender identity" has never been acceptable there, there seems to always have been a tacit acknowledgement that there are men "afflicted" with these desires, and there have long been eunuchs, slave boys, and lately also transvestites around to gratify them.
I don't know if these work, but it sounds like nicole bordeur should try it out.

of course there is the old joke of the guy who received his ticket in the mail w/ the picture of his license plates... so he sends a picture of a check... and the cops send a picture of handcuffs... ad infinitum ;)
apparently someone sent Nicole a link to a video recording of the ticket - more to follow, I'm sure. Me, I just figure they'll ticket me even if I make a legal right on red, regardless, so I refuse to turn at those recorded lights.
yeah the news article in the times said that you are sent a letter with the ticket, a picture of your shit, and a link to the video. it made it sound like there was a GUID in the URL or something so that only you can view it. it wasn't clear to me if these would be accessible to the general public, though.
but if "someone" "sent" her the link that makes me think all of these could be public information accessible to anyone via the web, in which case i'd love to know the URL.
