If Deion Branch had stuck his shoulder upfield instead of trying to do too much in the final seconds, the Seahawks would likely be 9-4 right now. And if we had a mediocre placekicker, the Hawks could be 5-8.

Our "points for" is still fewer than our "points against". The Hawks are cardiac kids. Too bad they lost yesterday, but I'm having fun watching them this year. I'm hoping for a monsoon on Thursday.

The Hawks will win the division, no problem. But the loss to Arizona will likely cost them the #2 seed, meaning we'll be travelling to New Orleans in round 2.

Other weekend sports action of note:
Zags annihilated the Huskies in mens hoops. At the end of a 9-year contract, the Huskies are not going to renew the rivalry. Must have something to do with the Zags winning 8 of those 9 games.

UW womens volleyball beats #5 Penn State to advance to the Final Four.

RE: Seahags losing to AZ...Welcome to my world. When did the Cardinals get good?

RE: MNF...my trash talking will commence as soon as the Lambs win. which, apparently will be next season sometime.

Terrible tackling, Alexander didn't run straight ahead as much he zigged or zig-zagged right into an Arizona D-liner/LB. Hard to watch.

I am excited about Chicago Fan's team vs. MiMo's team tonight. I'm always getting home at halftime, but a day off today and watching the pregame after watching the pre-pregame. Nice.

I don't hate Miguel Batista at all (he's alright), but for the money he commanded, he really wasn't worth it. That said, Bavasi's already blown this offseason, and he had money to burn (the team doesn't roll over money saved; they'd just pocket it), so can't blame him for trying and getting someone with some capability.

The game I really liked was last night's Cowboys-Saints game. Talk about a bitchslapping the Saints gave the Cowboys. Reggie Bush's 61 yard TD, where he leaped out of about 2-3 leg tackles and ran past the clutches of basically the entire Cowboys defense, was amazing, as was the 4th Down Tony Romo pass that miraculously went through a Saints defenders hands into T.O.'s for the TD, as was Devery Henderson leaping over two Cowboy defenders to catch a bomb at the 5 and then CRAWLING the last 5 yards for the TD because he wasn't touched. And that was in the span of about 15 minutes.

The Seahawks will win the West but I don't see them getting past the divisional playoffs this year. Injuires or not, they just don't have it together; told you they were gonna miss Steve Hutchinson.

I didn't even mention the Saints fullback Mike Karney, by no means a key player on that team, scoring the first 3 TDs of his career in that game.

GREAT blowout by the Saints. I would not be surprised to see them in the Super Bowl this year.
