I immigrated to Canada from Liverpool England at the hight of Beatle mania in 1963.
When John Lennon was shot I was working in a night club, the comedian on stage (Sharon McKnight) announced it and there was no more laughter that evening. It is one of those moments I will not forget.
Well, this at least explains why I woke up this morning to the idiots in the apartment below me blasting Imagine. Not a bad song, just not something you want to hear at 8 am on a Saturday.

the bus rolled forward. a girl i'd met at a party last week remembered that I'd brought the "plastic ono" lp. she walked over and gave me the news. "sorry about your friend."
