I work for a company that monitors commercial buildings for fire and emergency services. I am exhausted. Constant flood alarms going off in basements of highrises, skylights flying off of roofs, people trapped in elevators. I am not in your city but my heart goes out to you all as you extricate yourselves from this mess. However, to the woman who kept calling because we couldn't send someone right away to clean up the bottle of merlot she spilled on her carpet in her new condo: please do not breed.

I live in the 200 block of 30th east. At least a dozen other houses in the valley have been flooded by the rainstorm which occured at 4:30 thursday afternoon. There has been a huge city construction project underway in our neighborhood to build a stormwater detention facility. Apparently this was not enough.
