worst decision of his life. right behind creating facebook.
How is turning down a first offer for buying out your company the "worst decision of his life". Yahoo is planning on upping the offer to 1.6 b now. Although I personally don't think that facebook is worth as much as youtube, these purchases of social networks is getting out of control.
I think this was cool. What's youtube? Is that a group on facebook like partynetwork?
Let's not forget Yahoo is desperately trying to remain relevent in the ever changing internet topography. Facebook as I understand is the myspace of anti-hip college kids and it would be a huge acquisition for yahoo. Dude is not likely as dumb as turning dow $1.6b would seem to indicate with most of us.
Hmmm. Samrt move or stupid? It's hard to say. On the one hand, not selling will extend the shelf-life of facebook. On the other hand, it's only a matter of time before another social information network usurps facebook.
Let's just eliminate the middle man and register with one big corporate information clearing house to help facilitate their market research. Our ipods and cellphones can coordinate the info about our latest not-online purchases by aggregating the info from our rfid chips, and then get hotsynched into our online profiles to keep everything up to date and allow corporations to track the latest trends. Maybe in return we can get frequent buyer points or something. It's not like myspace or facebook or google customers, who made those products what they are, get any piece of the sell out anyway.
Hell yeah! Once total convergence has been accomplished it's gonna be awesome! If you stare at a product on your HD screen too long, it'll arrive in your mail the next day with the funds deducted right from your account. I can't fucking wait!
