Things are starting to get crazy out here on the north coast
Level B of the Westlake Center parking garage is flooded out.
Downtown was bad, but not *that* bad. We got out of there intact... traffic on 5 coming towards downtown, on the otherhand, was gnargly. Up here in teh Greenwood, it's not flooding yet.
Where is all this badness happening, just downtown? I'm up here in the U-District and it doesn't seem so bad. I haven't found anything that is flooded and the wind was only a problem when I walked by the tall Safeco building.
I was going to catch a bus to Wallingford, but traffic was at a stand still. Too many fucking SOVs. I should have ridden my bike, but by the time I realized I wasn't going to make it via bus, it was too late to bike.
Most of the gridlock downtown is due to the Seahawks game, although there did appear to be some significant flooding on 15th N up near the Ballard Bridge, as well as on Nickerson. I hear the Mercer underpass beneath Aurora was seriously flooded, and I guess there's been some additional flooding in other low-lying areas, but seriously, it's no worse than what we got back on New Year's eve 1995 after that huge Christmas snowstorm melted in a couple of days.
Suck it up, people. It's just water.
And wind. Lot's and lot's of wind.
I'm confused. How the hell can downtown be flooded? It's at a 45 degree angle!
