onSarah Mirk, that is a second-rate rainbow. Its colors are faded, it’s thinnish, it’s meek. None of the glorious, utopian vibrancy of a prime rainbow is in the one you pictured. Mirk, you must step up your game; don’t simply like rainbows because they are rainbows. Judge them, demand more of them, and hate them when they underperform.

This made me laugh so hard I think I got a concussion.
(Not just from laughter, but from throwing my laughing head backwards into an iron bar.)
Hey...I actually read this post from beginning to end! Good Job, Charles!
as though they were children!
I am so happy right now.
Charles, your quest for "glorious, utopian vibrancy" is painfully idealistic and, worse, bourgeois. This rainbow is not as shiny or gilded a rainbow as you've become accustomed to in that palatial cubicle of yours with the large window view. But for me? Trudging outside from my darkened existence in the communal editorial space, I saw it as a common rainbow which I feel proud to call beautiful.
Looks like God's been pissing various mixes of Kool-Aid... AGAIN!
MFW, your 13th century science belongs in a desert, not in the futurist cubicles of the Stranger.
Odin's whiskers, Chuck, that was downright humorous!
I see though that Sarah is the champion of the proletariat rainbow. That has to count for something.
A little PhotoShop would do the trick.
