What happened to "life altering?" Decide to cut that statement out? I was wondering in what way, besides inspiring you to write about city council meetings for a weekly concert listing, it altered your life.

Seemed too maudlin! It was life-altering, though - got me invested in politics and led to a lifelong commitment to political journalism.

I know how you feel. This is the first election I've been able to vote in that wasn't so depressing I considered leaving the country.

I think it's worth noting the ballot initiatives, though....the abortion ban turned down (*sighs of relief*) and minimum wage increases are approved; banning gay marriage and sane marijuana policy are wholly rejected.

It appears the election is about Iraq after all. I was hoping it would also show that we had smartened up as a nation in other ways, as well.

Maybe in '08.

LOL, vengeance... this was a great night but it took millions to make this happen. I see no dead dragons at your feet.

This was a big night. No doubt about it!
