Ridnour must have read Alexis Sherman's article. Man, I love the Sonics. Man, I hate that Howard Schultz.

Brad, have you ever played college basketball? Did you play high school basketball? In the midwest?

It's intense. You're the asshole.

Red Sox courting Matsuzaka -- the newest round of cold war spending between the Sox and the Yanks. Best of luck to the Sox, who are behind the 8-ball in their adoption of attrition-style spending to try to stay with the Yanks. Having been a Yankee-hating embryo, I, of course, hope the Sox get him.

A lot of good rookie pitchers this year and it's good to see Verlander stay strong not only for the whole season, but then into the playoffs. I think it's great that Hanley Ramirez gets the pick, too. Girardi did a great, great job with that extremely young and underfunded team. In these parts, though, Ramirez was represented only by stats (for the curious) and a couple of highlights during the season. Have any of you ever seen Ramirez actually play? I believe that MLB should show its support of the entire league by spreading the nationally televised games around more to let fans see a guy like Ramirez having the season he's having...on TV.

Tomo Ohka isn't a terrible idea, but his W-L record tells you absolutely nothing at all about his abilities.

Coach Knight should be in prison, not coaching college basketball. He represents everything that's repulsive about school sports.

His W-L record tells you little, but Tomo Ohka's peripherals show me a guy who's okay, inoffensively functional as a starting pitcher, but not worth the $5-7 mil a year he's gonna command in this thin free-agent market.

He'd sure as hell be better than Meche or Pineiro, though.

Geesh, nothing about the Seattle Times article on Why We Lost The Sonics (in 10 steps)?
