Doesn't it imply that Democrats are bringing down an evil dictatorship that came to power with the backing of the Reagan Administration? Spot on.
Sorry, the first thing that came to my mind was the toppling of Saddam statues in Iraq, which would make the Democrats the American occupation force there.

The cartoon is a lazy reach. I'm independent leaning toward Democrat, but this is the kind of stupid image that will keep the D's from ever really getting the entire country on their side, because they can't understand that their are people who don't think the Republicans are an exact replica of Saddam's style of politics. Not that the Democrats chose what was on the cover of the New Yorker, but you know, kind of.
