and Arizona became the first states to defeat an anti-gay marriage amendment. It would have also banned domestic partnerships and civil unions.
I can't see how living in VA is even a practical option for gay and lesbian couples anymore. Can two men or two women even open a joint checking account, get health insurance or legally buy a house together? Jebus, please save us from your followers. Are there any VA Sloggers out there who can give us an insider's view?
I have a friend in VA who came up with an angle of attack on anti-gay-marriage laws that I hadn't thought of: it's like legislating what color you can paint your bedroom walls. Could be effective to the ears of some guv'mint-hating conservatives, methinks.
That's a weak argument. Maybe if it WASN'T on the ballot Webb would've won by 10 points.
C'mon! is kinda silly to say, since you can't really do anything now, except wait for the ballots to be counted. Everything that can be done has been done. It's not quite a horse race.
I don't think a gay man can legally sell his car to another gay man in VA, even if they don't know each other. The law's pretty clear about no contracts.
Virginia may have done the right thing to that shithead Allen, but it's still a toilet. Gays and lesbians: MOVE.
