Slog - Comments on Schooled Again

So, badass sheriff-turned-Congressman Dave Reichert laid down the law with an Issaquah school bus driver—and got the driver fired. Oh, whoops. Nope. Turns out, as David Postman points out on his blog, that the bus driver was already in trouble with the Issaquah school district. So Reichert's attempt (pathetic as it was to begin with) to impress everyone by playing bad cop with a school bus driver wasn't even true in the first place. Well, it gets even funnier, because the story continues. Reichert scheduled a rally before this whole thing blew up in his face...and guess where it's at....

From the PI:

"Contrary to the superintendent's assertion that the incident was "part of a pattern of behavior with this particular bus driver," Dugovich [president of the employee's union] said, "There is nothing in this lady's employment record would lead anybody to believe this was part of a pattern."

The only reprimands the woman had received related to her status as a single working mother, he said - "being late to work, that sort of thing.""

So he's not just a pathetic, toadying tattletale who'll do anything to make himself look good in the eyes of Our Gread Leader, he's a LYING, pathetic, toadying tattletale.

Much like all his yap about "catching" the Green River killer, this story, repulsive in and of itself, turns out to be more self-aggrandizing exaggeration on the part of Officer Barbrady.

Reicherts theme rings true. Next he's comminn after you............

Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'

Keep movin', movin', movin',
Though they're disapprovin',
Keep them doggies movin' Rawhide!
Don't try to understand 'em,
Just rope and throw and grab 'em,
Soon we'll be living high and wide.
Boy my heart's calculatin'
My true love will be waitin', be waiting at the end of my ride.

Move 'em on, head 'em up,
Head 'em up, move 'em out,
Move 'em on, head 'em out Rawhide!
Set 'em out, ride 'em in
Ride 'em in, let 'em out,
Cut 'em out, ride 'em in Rawhide.

Full Lyrics

Rollin', rollin', rollin'
Rollin', rollin', rollin'
Rollin', rollin', rollin'
Rollin', rollin', rollin'
Rawhide!

Rollin', rollin', rollin'
Though the streams are swollen
Keep them dogies rollin'
Rawhide!
Rain and wind and weather
Hell-bent for leather
Wishin' my gal was by my side.
All the things I'm missin',
Good vittles, love, and kissin',
Are waiting at the end of my ride

CHORUS
Move 'em on, head 'em up
Head 'em up, move 'em on
Move 'em on, head 'em up
Rawhide
Count 'em out, ride 'em in,
Ride 'em in, count 'em out,
Count 'em out, ride 'em in
Rawhide!

Keep movin', movin', movin'
Soon we'll be living high and wide.
My true love will be waitin',
Be waitin' at the end of my ride.

josh, can the stranger stop linking to and quoting from postman and other non-"journalist" at the times?

with their tongues so firmly planted up and lapping so tenderly at blethen's ass cheeks it's hard to take them seriously.

besides the P-I had better writing about it. (and politics in general)
