While Schweder's piece seems to be more poo-oriented, let me offer up another installation of dealing with transgression of the taboo on public excretion. It has a couple other levels going on--namely, the role of nature in transmuting vulgarity to beauty, as well as the nested interplay of the domains of privacy and publicity.

The work is called "Zapf de Pipi," by the Austrian collective Gelitin.

Although, come to think of it, I don't know how transgressive it could possibly be in Europe. Aren't they still openly peeing in the streets over there?

Hey! I was just in that stall last week!

My first thought, when I looked in, was "what the hell?!?"

My second thought was that no other stall could ever measure up again.

I don't know what it is, but I think that photo of you is damn cute. Maybe it's your uncertain "Ummmmm....." expression.
