I'm glad you linked to the Glen Beck story (even if you are advocate journalist). He is such a dickhead. The "prove to me" quote is bad, but to me his quote right before that is just as bad. "You are a Democrat. You are saying, 'Let's cut and run.'" nice he can sum up the Democrat position so fairly.

Whatta asshole! (_!_)

Mike in MO,

The reason assholes like Bill O'Reilly, Glenn Beck and Nancy Grace have TV shows is because the people that watch those shows are just like them.

Andrew> I know, I have family that loves him. and, yes, they asre assholes too...

BTW, Cathy Jones on Canadian TV’s This Hour Has 22 Minutes does a flat out hilarious send up of Nancy Grace called “Panic Room with Betty Hope: Here’s what you should be afraid of this week.”

Watching Canadian TV is like seeing news from another planet or parallel universe -everyone is so lucid, calm and rational.

As a true worshipper of demonic powers, I would like a link to what Robertson said? I don't know why I want to read more about it though, that sentence summed it up rather well.

If this is the case, then I revel in consorting with demons. These "evangelists" are evil incarnate, and I want nothing to do with them.

However, this is really nothing new... he said it before, back in March. This was just one additional mention on his asinine TV show.

What's funny, though, is that Bill O'Reilly (Bill FUCKING O'Reilly! What planet am I on?) said what a lot of people are thinking here:

From rightwingwatch.org

A viewer wrote in to ask Pat Robertson a question

Why [do] evangelical Christians tell non-Christians that Jesus (God) is the only way to Heaven? Those who are Hindu, Buddhist, Islamic, etc. already know and have a relationship with God. Why is this? It seems disrespectful.

Robertson replied that it is not all disrespectful because all other religions really just worship “demonic powers.”

No. They don’t have a relationship. There is the god of the Bible, who is Jehovah. When you see L-O-R-D in caps, that is the name. It’s not Allah, it’s not Brahma, it’s not Shiva, it’s not Vishnu, it’s not Buddha. It is Jehovah God. They don’t have a relationship with him. He is the God of all Gods. These others are mostly demonic powers. Sure they’re demons. There are many demons in the world.

Oh my god, I just watched Bill O'Reilly talk for 4 minutes, and I wanted to shake his hand. I think my head is going to explode.

What I don't understand is why people are still paying attention to Pat Robertson. He does business with mass murderers, people who teach ten year old boys to become soldiers and kill people with axes. Pat Motherfucking Robertson is afflicted with demons. And anyone who defends him in public is not a Christian.

In cross-cultural relations:
I'm sorry. The Somalis I've met are well-mannered, cultured, good conversationalists, and polite. Many have witnessed their homeland's brutal civil war. I'm still suspicious of their Islamic ties.

It seems that the Christian religion and Catholic one too, might I add, resemble to me the same religious characters of the Greek, roman gods.
Like we have Zeus=God viceversa, and we have Apollo=David, and theres Moses=Neptune(the parting of the Red Sea/Clash of the Titansesque scene, lots of water you know) and my favorite comparison jesus mother Mary=Hera(though their characters differ because of personality they are about the same as mothers would be)
Like Hera -mean cold hearted
Mary- virgin and the biggest Blue baller this side of Texas, ask Joseph
Anyhow theres other comparisons, just don't debate it with a religious fuitcake the go nuts oabout having there religion compared to a Mythology. You know?! their heroes in the bible are better than those in the Greek one and if you compare visually David to Apollo your going to go to hell and all that. My cousins always totured me with that one when I was a kid(hmmm they probably still do?)
I dunno but these characters sure do look like those from Clash of the Titans in my mind......

Robertson (and Haggard and Falwell and Swaggart, etc, etc) is proof that in Christianity, crap rises to the top. May God (if She exists) damn them all.

why isn't there anything about the PS3 launch in the news post or anywhere on the slog. i know you're not the biggest video game folks, but it seems to be headline news all over the place (including many other interesting blogs). there is a lot that could be said here, even in satire. so why not, stranger?

Did y'all know that the original Skid Row was Yesler Way, called "Skid Road" because it was originally a log-paved path for skidding other logs down the hill to Yesler's sawmill?

Nobody cares about the PS3 in Seattle. Seriously. Look, I went past my Fred Meyer last night and noone was lined up - and they have 3 PS3 consoles. But I can guarantee there WILL be a line for the 70 Wii consoles they'll be selling at midnight Saturday.

That's why no stories.

Will in Seattle,

The 22 Minutes website may have some clips. I haven’t tried YouTube or iTunes yet. It’s usually on Tuesday and Friday nights along with Royal Canadian Air Farce on CBC (channel 99) here in Seattle. Though the quality of both shows varies wildly, I’ve been addicted for years.
