Politics Now This is an Attack-Ad

onDown in the comments, there’s a raging argument about whether Dave Reichert’s latest attack-ad is sexist (and whether it’s self-defeating for liberals to argue about whether or not it might be sexist).
But if you think Reichert’s dumb-blonde ad is bad, check out this Republican hit-piece, which Wonkette has dubbed the “Gay Eskimo Transsexual Attack Ad.” It’s reared its head in Wisconsin and North Carolina this year, and is so bad it’s being kept off the air by television stations.

Holy frijoles... Utter misinterpretation and misrepresentation of scientific research frightens me. It reminds me of a few years ago when people were freaking out about millions of dollars being spent in fruit fly reproduction research. We weren't studying just their mating habits... we were studing genes potentially linked to various forms of cancer in humans.
I don't know about any of the specific research projects referred to in the ad... but honestly I didn't realize congress approved individual NIH research projects... I though, you know, that there were people who actually know something about science at the NIH who made those decisions.
The scariest part of the whole thing is at the end, with the sound of the most weaselly, nasal voice imaginable. Who could ever think a man with that voice could ever be an effective leader?
WELL RON - YOU JUST GO MY VOTE
What about the one that was on the daily show about how someone's opponent supports TAZING SEVEN-YEAR-OLDS with FIFTY THOUSAND VOLTS OF ELECTRICITY???
Question: What do you say to two blondes in a box of cereal?
Answer: "Paris!? Darcy?! What are you doing in that box of frosted flakes?"
I'm with Matthew, the voice of Paul R. Nelson is the creepy cherry atop this bullshit sundae. I had to see what he looked like and found this disturbing image of Mr. Nelson and some hapless octegenarian he'd netted for a photo op at his website:

Perhaps the distinguished old vet is the one doing the voice in the ad. That would explain much.
