This is one of the best videos I've ever seen. I caught it on their website at 4am about week ago and have been telling everyone to see it. I can't wait to see them in concert again whenever they play NYC again.

Their live show in NY was a blast, but I don't think this newest album is as good as they've done, not by a long shot. I was loving on the whole art-directed-and-professionally-dressed thing that consumes them, until it reminded me of Dee-Lite. Whatever happened to them?

Awwww, you guys are sounding like Debbeie Downer. Try humming the tune "The Spy Who Loved Me", it might make you feel better and more openminded!

Dee-Lite broke up ages ago, and then the singer lost big in a lawsuit.

It's not bad. Sounds like Electric Light Orchestra to me. Seventies, not eighties. Unless it's Wham!, but those chords are definitely ELO (i.e., third-generation Beatles). There are worse things to be, but I'll take the Baskervilles anyday.

I hear ya Strangeways re: Savage, but but this song is essentially a showtune, both in video form and the subject of the video. I like the song. The fact that Dan is branching away from traditional showtunes is encouraging. Now, if he could begin listening to a couple of Christopher Delaurenti's excellent picks, I'd head home early today blaming the weather.

Uh... Woody? I've written 1323 posts since Slog launched and of that number a grand total of 6 of my posts have been about Scissor Sisters. Am I a groupie? Sure, I suppose, but I'd characterize myself as more of a proud older brother. Whichever it is, though, I'd hardly say I've been abusing Slog with tons of posts about the Scissor Sisters.

As for my musical tastes, I like musicals. Guilty as charged—have I ever tried to hide it? But I've always liked theatrical pop. I've got Dresden Dolls on my iTunes, along with some Strokes, Rufus Wainwright, the Cardigans, Elton John, Beach Boys, the Beatles, Vicki Carr, Elvis Costello, Eydie Gorme, Kirsty MacColl, Linda Rondstandt, the Scissor Sisters, and Perry Como.

Oh, and tons of Sondheim, of course.

That video was great. The concept was really well executed. The song was just barely ELO enough to keep me watching, but a little to George Michael-ish to make me a fan of their music. Still, I've know Jason since he was in high school and it's great to see him doing something he loves so well.
