Good for SF. Hopefully, as more cities move in this direction, the argument that *drug use will go outta control if weed is decriminalized* will seem more outdated and stupid.

Does banning styrofoam containers really matter? When you bury it in an airtight landfill, paper doesn't biodegrade either.

"Bay Area permutation"? Um, that shit doesn't fly in San Jose or especially in Repub ass Livermore or whatever. It's not bay-area any more than the seattle law is "western washington" or, considering the absolute population, "Pacific Northwest".

I'm never sure what becomes of these types of ordinances, or how they go into effect. Seems like the 3rd one of its type I know of to pass here in SF, starting with Prop. W that voters passed in '78 that was supposed to decriminalize marijuana. Of course they can't technically make weed legal at the city level, but ENFORCEMENT IS EVERYTHING, so this seems like a step in the right direction.

Of course, cultivation offenses aren't usually handled by SFPD, and the DEA will still be doin' there thing.
