Irony? Did Hannah see my comment on the Black Face Richards video? It was made 10 minutes before this post.

Nope, hadn't even read it yet--just found the story via a bulletin my friend posted on Myspace.

OK, she's a great mom, but listen at about the 2:45 mark and tell me her name isn't "Aquanetta."

Holy shit! Best name ever indeed.

Hey, that kid was on Oprah already... Um, you know, I was like, flipping channels and stuff..

Aquanetta's son is amazing. I especially thought the video game thing was impressive. It's one thing to use echo location to sense what's around you, but to be able to navigate through video games seems a whole other challenge.

In other sense news, the NYT has an interesting piece about lexical-gustatory synaesthesia, as researched by somebody here at University of Edinburgh, where I'm doing my research. Odd stuff.

I was aware that blind people use echolocation, but I don't think I've ever heard somebody using the "dolphin clicks" before to enhance it. Is that common?

What a cool story! Mom Aquanetta has done a phenomenal job, and both of their attitudes are amazing.

PML though that even a completely blind kid plays video games. Teenagers! Heee.
