Screw that: ask them if you can get some tossed salad.

If they have t-shirts with their store name on them I'm buying one!

On a similar note, coming back from Stevens Pass last January, I took this picture in Sultan, WA. Mark your calendar, 'cause they'll probably be doing this again next year.

Greg,

Indeed, they do have the Anal Chili cookoff annually. I've always guessed that somebody's unintentional scatalogical abbreviation of 'annual' started the tradition, but I'd rather believe that it was intentional.

I drive through Cle Elum a lot on trips over the mountains and that has to be the only store i have seen open up in 10 years, kind of sad really

Sarah, next time you're driving through, I highly recommend McGuire's Giant Burger. Their fishwich is supreme and all their shakes are freshly made. The Banana Chocolate (with real banana) is particularly orgasmic.

There's an Italian place in Cle Elum that's fantastic - it's off the main drag, though.

There's also a meat place, better than Salumi.

Cle Elum, Roslyn, etc. were settled by Italians and Baltic people - Good food traditions there.
