ha... i just moved to seattle from spokane, and i can vouch for the fact that this guy is a totally inept public official. i've never heard him make an intelligent argument, and it's boggling how he ever got elected and re-elected. his challenger, chris marr, is the strongest in years, so my fingers are crossed for spokane finally having TWO dems (in addition to the amazing lisa brown).

Ugh. I worked at Planned Parenthood and have volunteered there for years, and this stupid god damned accusation never fails to rear it's ugly head when some jackass wants to discredit the fact that knowledge about sex does not equal sexual activity. Fucking Abstinence-Only assholes.
They never even come up with new things arguments. Have you seen the movie "Kinsey"? Dr. Kinsey faces the same damn arguments we do today against sexual knowledge.

I used to live in Spokane and was active in politics. This guy has no business anywhere near public policy. He is an idiot and does not represent the people who live there. There are plenty of intelligent Spokanites, and I am sure they will prove that point in the next election.

Looking at the this site will show you all how things are going and it looks like the eastern washington is far more republican than the west. Also its funny to see guys like 'good spaceguy tryin out for senate. Also A chinese guy and a couple of middle eastern names in there as well. They did get some votes so far though. I think Cantwell got this election in the bag though. I don't know where 80% comes from but two of the Planned Parenthood condoms were by far the least durable of the brands that Consumer Reports tested last year:

Celeriac,
Thanks for the chart. I'm not sure you're right about "by far the least durbale" though.
There are 3 Planned Parenthood brand condoms on that list: two of those 3 score excellent on reliability. 11 of the 23 get worse scores on reliability. And 7 other brands are equivelant or worse on "durablility." However, you are right that 2 of the three PP condoms are at the bottom of the list when measured by "overall score" ... that is both "strength" and "reliability" combined.
But, also as you point out, who knows where Benson's 80% figure comes from? I will call Benson on Monday to ask himn what he's talking about.
Ultimatley, though, this chart—showing that PP sells a codnom (the lollipop) with "excellent" reliability and "very good" durability and another with "excellent" reliability, sinks Benson's inflammatory claim that PP sells condoms with the intent of causing unwanted pregnancies.
Again: thanks for the chart. I love ConsumerReports.

Two out of three IS bad.

PP should instead purchase reliable brands (like they used to). No, this isn't 80%, however, PP should NOT be on the lower half.

If you had the Consumer Reports chart, what would you choose?
