Who knows why this one popped into my head today, but here’s one of my FAVE videos of the 80s, it’s EBN-OZN with their one (and only) hit, 1983’s “AEIOU… Sometimes Y.” Sure it has the superfluous rat-tails and Thomas Dolby “I’m ka-RAZY” hairdos—but it also has a crap-ton of great lines you’ll be quoting for the rest of the day. “Hey, you want to go out? HUH. DO I WANT TO GO OUT.” Lola… Lola… Lola…

I saw this video once on MTV in 83-ish or whenever it was. the song has haunted me ever since. hump, i salute you.

Whoever can drudge up some "Shiny Shiny" by Hayzee Fantayzee wins...MY HEART!
This was one of the first videos I searched for on YouTube when I got DSL. I recall thinking that "feeling kinda cavalier" had to be the coolest line evah when I was 13 and this video was in heavy rotation on MTV.

Funny thing, shortly after I sent the 2 links to EBN-OZN to a friend of mine, he emailed me back for Haysi Fantayzee as well. Naturally, I found shiny shiny and John Wayne Is Big Leggy on YouTube and accommodated his request. What is it about these 2 bands that we tie them together? Other than their 1 Euro hit status.

BD: I believe Haysi Fantayzee and OBN-OZN are connected because their songs are so aggressively weird and horrible and entertaining. (Add Sigue Sigue Sputnick and you've got a peerless trio of horror.)
Sigue Sigue Sputnik was a few years later, though -- I think EBN-OZN and Haysi Fantaysee had their (minor) US hits at almost exactly the same time, probably one of the reasons they are linked.
The third song I always think of with them is Total/Toto Coelo's "I Eat Cannibals"!
I actually OWN Haysi Fantaysee's album AND Toto/Total Coelo's "I Eat Cannibals" 12" single on vinyl!
The chick from HF became a very successful photographer, I believe, and is still every bit as bitchin' looking as she was then.
