Can somebody, anybody, show me where in the constitution it states that U.S. citizens have to pay taxes on wages. By signing your W-2 you are actually telling the government that you are volunteering, willing to pay them a percentage of your wages. Look it up! Oh, and guess what the IRS is NOT part of the U.S. government. Imagine that!

The Constitution gives the government authorization to levy taxes. It doesn't say that citizens "have to" pay, but it also doesn't say that the government can't throw people in prison for refusing to pay.

Let me guess, Momma - you're one of those wacky people who think all the public benefits you enjoy just fly out of Ole' Unca' Sam's ass, and that you don't have any obligation to pay for them, right?

Wow. I read the document at smokinggun, and Snipes got himself hooked into something crazy. The guys were a "Christian ministry" running a bullshit tax scam based on the nonsensical idea (echoed by Momma above) that the IRS has no authority. Wrong, kooks, wrong!

It's not as crazy as it sounds. A lot of corporations and hedge funds (which, by the way, are almost totally unregulated -thanks, Congress!) are playing a similar racket by stashing cash and assets in foreign companies' accounts, then using phantom trading to show losses for tax purposes when they actually made massive profits.
God Bless the USA!

That's not the game Snipes was playing, though. His advisors were playing the "IRS doesn't exist" game, which is a lot stupider. I love the "Christian ministry" cover, too. If Snipes is smart he'll plead out and give them everything on the scum who run these scams.
