What I can't understand is why people feel the need to steal and vandalize from a grass-roots DIY organization that has been creating a community recreational space in a harsh industrial environment with few funds and a lot of sweat equity.

It feels like a big FU to the local skateboard community and the hard work we have put into Marginal Way Skatepark.

We give a shit enough to pour thousands of dollars and untold volunteer hours into a place that was filled with garbage, drugs and prostitution until a couple years ago.

We clean, paint and build down there year round so skaters of all ages will have a cool place to ride.

Then BMX kids come down and trash the spot thinking they're giving skateboarders the finger when, in reality, you are shooting yourself in the foot.

We could help BMX'ers get your own place going but you are so deficient in vision (let alone motivation) that you can't move beyond your narrow "fuck you" philosophy.

Other bikers in Seattle are out there building unique stuff to ride, you retards are blowing it for all of them.
