Politics Republicans on Evangelicals: “Nuts.”
posted by October 12 at 11:10 AM
onEarlier this week it was Tucker Carlson speaking “deep truth” about the comtempt Republican leaders have for Evangelical Christians. Now David Kuo, former special assistant to President Bush from 2001 to 2003, is joining the chorus:
A self-described conservative Christian, Kuo’s previous experience includes work for prominent conservatives including former Education Secretary and federal drug czar Bill Bennett and former Attorney General John Ashcroft…He says some of the nation’s most prominent evangelical leaders were known in the office of presidential political strategist Karl Rove as “the nuts.”
“National Christian leaders received hugs and smiles in person and then were dismissed behind their backs and described as `ridiculous,’ `out of control,’ and just plain `goofy,’” Kuo writes.

Rove is evil, but he's not an idiot.
Ah well. I guess the fundies are just going to have to put up a third party candidate in 2008.
Santorum for President!!
May the good lord deliver them a Nader.
'Tis a strange thing to find myself agreeing with Karl Rove...
As much as I despise Karl Rove and everything that he stands for, he was correct about one thing: The US is a right wing country.
How else can you explain the social and economic progress of other industrial nations like next door neighbor Canada, while we move sharply backward?
OMFG! Karl Rove and I actually AGREE on something!
Must check weather.com - um, what's the zip code for Hell? I tried 98666, but apparently, that's a zip code in Vancouver, WA -
Hm. Yeah, now that I think about it, that totally makes sense.
Western society is "moving backward" by that definition. Many Americans just happen to be the first indicator subspecies.
Re: right-wing Nader - Don't forget the prominent role Ross Perot had in getting Clinton elected both times...
