Slog - Comments on Rachel Corrie in NYC

Here's the New York Times review of the play based on Rachel Corrie's letters and journals. Verdict? Rachel Corrie is interesting; Megan Dodds, who plays her as though "orating from a platform, bullhorn in hand" "merely playing young, with all the attendant cuteness" is not. I'm not sure who's playing Rachel in Seattle production. Hopefully she won't have such angular cheekbones....

From the piece..

"The production does not belabor the ominous here, and it doesn’t need to. Nor, when Rachel gives voice to her increasingly firm convictions about the Middle East conflict (“What we are paying for here is truly evil”), does Ms. Dodds ever seem to be orating from a platform, bullhorn in hand."

Seems to me the writer is saying that Ms. Dodds does not seem to be orating from a platform..
