It's called "India," of course.
First song. First album.
The song is terribly produced...but they never wrote a better song. Butler's at his finest, just improvising all his crazy favorite catch phrases from those early days... he says the word "strange" and "ceiling" and "flowers" 100 X each verse. It's delightful. What a singer that guy is.

I'm partial to Talk Talk Talk, their second album.
I can never get enough of Mr. Jones, Dumb Waiters, and those two pop ballads at the end of each side that sound identical...so that when you're listening to one of them, you can't remember how the other one is any different.

Not quite on topic, but isn't it cool how so many bars have gone to using those digital satellite channels for their house background music? In the past month, I've sat in my neighborhood watering hole and heard "Sister Europe," "White Riot," "Vietnamese Baby" and--just the other night--"I'm Stranded" by the fucking Saints!!! Is this a great country or what?
