A category which includes me. Watching Monday Night Football, the consensus among the cognoscenti of Bruno and Tim's was that the Bears were going to fucking lose. And, mind you, that they deserved to lose. WTF? How many turnovers can you allow-the Bears gave up six--and win? Yet the Bears managed to win. To quote my pal Clay, "Any rational motherfucker expected the Bears to lose, outside of Terry Schaivo's parents. They always think the dead can come back to life." And Darrin the Bartender--who lent me the computer for the last liveslogging and for this pissant post--says "I wore...

The fact that the Bears got bent over for 50 minutes of football by one of the worst football franchises of all time and could only score 3 points on offense is pretty amazing. The fact that the Cards could blow a 20 point lead like that is amazing. Both teams should be embarrassed.

This week was a pretty good week for NFL games that fit the "this is why i love sports" bill. Listening to the end of the hawks game on the radio was an up-and-down rollercoaster ride.

there is still a lot of football to go.

Perhaps these Bears do have the same kind of mystique as the 85 Bears. Remember in 85 when the Bears were losing 17-9 to the Vikings in the Metrodome on Monday night football? Jim McMahon came in and replaced a pathetic Steve Fuller and immediately threw two touchdowns and the Bears won 33-24.

Last night's game was even more special and historic. They were the first team in the history of the NFL to come back from 20 points down in the second half without an offensive touchdown. Truly an amazing experience to watch. Brian Urlacher is a true modern-day gladiator.

Moving sweet Lou to Chicago is a good move by the Cubs. Lou's first move? Ask that they sign A-Rod.

I think thats a good move. Why? Yes, A-rod is not clutch. If youre the kind of person that beleives in Clutch hitting. Clutch hitting does not exist, unless youre Papi Ortiz from the Sox, Clutch hitting just means you got more opportunities to make it to a big a game.

A-Rod is one of the guys that can get you to the post season and if Lou puts him back to short stop than the cubs are back. A-Rod will choke in the post season, but if he gets you there thats half the battle.

The Bears looked awful and the Cardinals looked like the Cardinals.

I think you’re on to something, SEME. But remember, A-Rod was good in the postseason when he was in Seattle—maybe it’s NY he’s allergic to.

Confidential to Bears fans: Do not attempt a repeat of that game against any other team in the NFL. There’s only one Arizona Cardinals, after all.

If I and Neil Rackers have anything in common (and that's a rediculous IF), it hopefully is that -- yes, we missed the real winning field goal kick last night -- but we've kicked the thing, eyes closed, over and over and over again in our mind a hundred times at least. Just to keep the saliva glands responsive for the next time a game is there for us to rip away from a horribly-playing, top-tier team. And, I'll bet Dennis Green had a second, more exclusive and exquisite meeting with the Arizona O line last night. That's not Edgerrin James' fumble that went for the DTD, that's the O line's. Letting you man get smacked around like that? Christ.

Chicago Fan: You can guess correctly at my ruined delight last night. But did you know, as well, that I cannot imagine a face for you that wasn't smeared with sauce and chewing on rib sinew when the game went your way?
