onShiite militia seizes control of Iraqi city … will the GOP rethink their “open-ended” war policy?
Good old days: Russian Kremlin forces foreign human rights organizations to shut their doors (temporarily?) under new law.
Nevermind: North Korea now has no plans for nuclear testing.
Values voters vs. the Homosexual Agenda: Gay Congressional Republicans reveals “dichotomy” on Capitol Hill. That, uh, apparently wasn’t obvious before?
WMD: Democrats deploying Bush as a campaign ad weapon.
That’s a rap: Seattle public school’s “hip-hop influenced” debate teams may get canned.
“The time for being nice is over”: P-Patch thefts are rampant and rude.

what, no Friday morning sports report? My Cardinals are in the World Series! Throw me a fricken bone!
RE: Goddamn gay Republicans
This quote was the money shot:
"My boss's public position didn't bother me at all. If that's the sacrifice that I have to make to keep my party in power, so be it," said (David) Duncan (former top aide to soon to be imprisoned Rep. Robert Ney, R-Ohio), who now is a law student at George Mason University.
I hope that there is a 'GOP purge' of these vile, despicable, self-aggrandizing assholes. They're more than willing to throw the rest of us
under a bus and play to the fear, hate and greed that are the worst qualities of the American public -the 'Jewish Nazi' shoe fits.
I just think it's so sad that, in this day and age, politicians who could really care less feel they have to trample on people's civil rights and speak ill of a whole class of people just to win votes. It's kind of unbelievable, when you stop to think about it.
I'd like shrub to explain how the seizing of an entire city by Shiite militia is anything but civil war.

Cards and the Tigers!!!
Beer vs. Cars? hmmmmmm!!!!!
Best of Luck to both teams!!
reality is not reality until the decider decides reality is.

Also, I like how they mention the Pew research that says Americans support equal rights but oppose same sex marriage. Huh? Doesn't anyone realize that it is contradictory?
Speaking of interesting Pew data, I thought this data was pretty striking. I take heart from it, but I'm also wary about any over-confidence before Nov. 7th.
Don't you get it, Mike? Everyone in America has the equal right to marry someone of the opposite sex. Where's the problem?
Mike in MO,
A lot has been made of the fact that semantics play a large role in how Americans feel about the gay marriage question. Call equality "civil unions" and 51% approve, but call it "marriage" and approval drops to only 36%.
That same level of thinking is pervasive even here in Washington. No one really stops to think about what marriage means or what rights are involved. Our own State Supreme Court couldn't even define or answer that question to anyone's satisfaction.
The bottom line is that we're all equal -just some of us are more equal than others. Thank you, George Orwell.
See www.freedomtomarry.org for more info. And "Frank and Paul are not gay" on YouTube.
Everytime I hear or read about the Republicans impending defeat I get giddy. Then my right brian kicks in and I think it's all too good to be true. Please, everyone, refrain from pouring the champagne until after the election. And PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE vote and tell everyone you know to do the same.
So we lost control of Amara, Iraq. That's only one of many cities. In fact, if you average out Iraq with Afganistan, where we only control one city, we're still breaking even.
I think you missed the most important story of all. We are now called Metronaturals. Metrosexual is out.

Thanks Seattle!
Mark, OMG, I want to make fun of it, but somehow I agree with the metronatural site. It's probably time to move. Detroit, here I come!
KOMO says the city spent $200,000 to come up with that Metronatural tagline. Two hundred thousand dollars, literally just to brainstorm a name.
Extravagant waste is the gum in the City of Seattle's gears.
People are opposed to gay "marriage" because they somehow think it means their church will be forced to perform gay marriage ceremonies.
It's dumb and irrational, I know, but it's the only explanation I can come up with.
That's why I think that the government needs to get out of the marriage business for EVERYONE, and only issue civil union licenses. Under my plan, ff you want to get married, regardless of your gender and your partner's gender, you will have to find a church that will do your particular flavor, but get the government out of the "sacrament sanctioning" business.
"BRAND PROMISE" ?!?! Oh god.
I found a fascinating article on Wikipedia about Ernst Röhm, Hitler’s openly gay top lieutenant and commander and co-founder of the infamous Nazi storm troopers. Apparently, he and Hitler became close friends in prison in 1923. They worked together for several years to bring the Nazis to power at the federal level and enforce Party loyalty.
In order to consolidate political power and be more congruent with the anti-gay policies of the Party, Hitler had his close friend Röhm shot to death during a purge of the storm troopers in 1934 called the “Night of the Long Knives.” His dying words were reportedly “mein Führer, mein Führer.”
Who wants to take bets that there’s going to be a “Night of the Long Knives 2” on November 8, 2006?
This article cracks me up because I know many gay Republicans. And there are even some in this article who are not even out their own families, such as David Duncan. What gives?
Well John Doe, as an insider, what's your take? Enlighten us, please.
Why are gay Republicans such treacherous twits?
I mean, honestly, if George Bush held up four fingers and told the gay R's he was holding up five, not only would they enthusiastically agree that yes they see five fingers, they would actually believe it!
