Fak stop with all the sports talk.
It is about as interesting as a Knitting club taking over the blog to constantly talk about knitting sweaters!

Brad

Sorry to have missed a chance to go head-to-head. Maybe in January in the playoffs. Or next June, when the Mariners travel to Wrigley Field. We should get Dan to apply for press credentials for us.

Too bad I missed the live-slog last night. Looks like the wonderful troll audience was able to make is, so kudos to them.

Bears deserved that win in a big way. Their D was able to both pressure Hasselbeck and cover the Hawks receivers simultaneously, while Seattle was unable to do either. I'm not sure, but I'd be willing to bet Chicago was playing with 15 guys on defense.

Amen pope. We made the Bears look like theyre about something.

The M's need Zito. One more year and were losing Ichiro.

My Rams will beat the Hawks in two weeks. The Rams only lose to the Niners, whoe lost 41-0 yesterday...

Please say no to Jason Schmidt and Barry Zito. Neither of those guys are going to be worth the money they cost.

I dont know Andrew, I think Zito is worth every penny. We have a solid young squad with a potential superstar in Yunieski Betancourt, if Beltre comes around than we have a squad. We need solid pitching. Felix is still a couple of years away from becoming the stud he is going to become, in the mean time we need pitching and Zito is the man who can put up wins. We also need a DH. I say bring back Ken Griffey Jr. as a DH.

I'm looking forward to our rematch in the playoffs!

Yikes. Were we beaten that bad that they had the Sehawks plane had to make an emergency landing in the Dakotas?

Sorry about the numerous typos. Slogging on my day off. I best do my run around Seward Park.

Geesh, the Bears front 4 crushed our O line all night. Hard to use the WR's when they have the extra guy back in coverage and you have no time to pass. I'm surprised the Hawks didn't just get the ball out quickly to the flat or on short slants more often. Ugly.

Please make an effort to avoid typos. It makes people like me cringe.

Was at the final game at Safeco, however, yesterday. It was a pleasant end to the season. Maybe 28K there. The fans gave our team a nice send off. Optimism rings eternal, and it's just the wait till the lowering sun angle, comes back around to the hightening one in the Spring.

Zito? BARRY Zito, the mediocre or worse pitcher who's about to get fifteen million more dollars than he's worth? That's the guy you want? Geez, I know he's cute and everything, but there are fifty guys in the minor leagues who can pitch as well as he can. Whoever signs him now is going to be really, really sorry in a year or two, when he's doing a Pineiro and they realize they still owe him $30 mil.

Apparently Zito knows how to whoop it up late at The Alibi Room. Jager on Monday, champagne at Safeco on Tuesday and a pleasant scratch from the start on Wednesday...

FNARF- Piniero has been a bust since day 1. Zito is the real deal. Strong arm, young, smart, lefty, 28. 2 bad years which are better than Joel's best. Come on, even Pedro has had bad years. Randy had some bad years as well. It goes with pitching. The M's need Zito or somebody like him. They have nobody who can give them a strong presence. Felix will, but he is at least 3 years away.

If the Mariners had to go free agency for a starting pitcher, I'd prefer Zito to Schmidt: He's younger-28 to Schmidt's 34 and Schmidt has had some arm problems in recent years and he wants a 4 year deal--I don't think he can go 2 years w/o another arm injury.

Personally, I don't think they should resort to a Zito or any of the available free agent pitchers because I think the Mariners are lacking such talent that even w/ a Zito they'll still finish out of the playoffs. I say lets take a long long at the youth from the farm--Feierabend, Baek, and Blackley and trade for an experienced journeyman pitcher.

re: Mariners... get to know the name Daisuke Matsuzaka. He's Japanese, he pitches and he will pwn the major leagues when the Mariners pay a gazillion dollars to win his rights from the Japanese leagues.
