that cake looks so f'ing tasty. i'm licking my fleshlight just thinking about its soft, sugary goodness.
My partner and I were there, and it was an awesome show. The time passed way too fast, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves, especially the cute guy with the beard in front of us who was singled out by Ana Matronic for his enthusiastic dancing.
I was really impressed with the technical aspects of the show. All I can say is - Wow! We saw our Sisters at the Showbox in 2004, and they've really rocketed to the top of the performance scene since. One thing I did miss was when we got there really early at the 2004 show, Jason/Jake came out and mingled with the crowd for a minute before the opening act. But I'm so glad such great people are getting the success they deserve. We need more like them!
The biggest surprise to me was the audience. We saw Peaches back in August (she was totally rad, of course), and I thought that we'd see the same crowd last night. In fact, the audience was way more diverse age wise, and it's exciting to see so many people enjoy a great band. Hopefully, they'll see the success here that they're having in Europe.
Rock on Sisters!
We attended both shows as well, hanging onto the wall of the front row.
The band is getting tighter all the time and Jake only moves MORE than a few years ago, if that is possible.
I also admit that the extra long helpings of Jake's bare ass were yummy!
for god's sake, use a cut/ continued after the jump tag for images like this! some of us read the Slog at work, you know.
Their latest record sounds like bad Leo Sayer! This group is way overrated! The ticket price alone was robbery. I hope they enjoy their 15 minutes because the clock is ticking....
Dan, NSFW Police has a point--and I just hid the cake behind a link.
BR,
The appeal of the Scissor Sisters isn't just their pop music. It's also the same kind of pride that sports fans feel when their team wins the Superbowl. It's the naughtiness, "screw you" glam rock attitude and fun that's been missing from sucktastic corporate rock for the last 15 years. They clearly love what they do and are fully appreciative of the success they've found. I have to admit, that's damned contagious. Plus they put on one of the best live shows anywhere, very interactive.
After all, they are Scissor Sisters - and so are we.
he's our generation's elaine stritch or zasu pitts or aaron burr or a dick-fueled pina colada guy...brown flared rayon slacks...open colored faux silk shirt...stack shoes...kotter beard...kissinger glasses...crouchin and pumpin that fist to....yes I like pina coladas...gettin lost in her mane...makin love at midnight...weighin her feces on my triple beam scale.
It sounded like Wham getting humped by Judas Priest!!
Is that a mouth?
Actually looks like he got a friekin' huge pussy.
Ta-Dah! is awesome, but some of the best songs were placed on the delux european edition. If you are wondering were the club hit for drag queens like "Filthy-Gorgeous" is on Ta-Dah!; then check out "Making Ladies" on the delux version.
