I'm actually not surprised at the downfall of Air America. While I enjoy Al Franken's books, he's t-e-r-r-i-b-l-e as a radio host, far as I'm concerned. There are some bright spots out there, but to me only Randi Rhodes provides comedy, facts and spunk enough to draw my attention.

One thing they can't control is that many of the listeners out there are driving for a living- doing sales, deliveries, etc. I bet the bulk of those people are the fine little republicans that go home at night and sleep in the bedrooms with their wives Dick Van Dyke style.

Air America (or its replacement) would do well to get some firebrands on their network- someone that will take to task the crap that spews from Savage/Limbaugh/Medved.

Let's not be talking smack about Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore, now.

Michael Hood is almost as credible as that guy from Truthout who reported all those wonderful rumors about Karl Rove's imminent indictment.

Let us not forget that Chapter 11 doesn't mean a business is out of business. The Airlines go into Chapter 11 frequently. Federated Department Stores (aka Macy's) was in Chapter 11 ten years ago. A division of Marriott was in Chapter 11 when I was working for them. Reports of their death may be greatly exagerated.

It might also help if people in the slog actually listened to Air America before forming any opinions about it. I know that's a stretch, but the only shows anyone ever talks about are Randi Rhodes, Al Franken and Mike Malloy. There are many other programs on that network.

I listen to Air America all of the time, usually online and not on the local station. I also like Sam Seder, Laura Flanders, Rachel Maddow, and Young Turks. Randi Rhodes is probably my favorite though. I would love Dan Savage to be on the radio again.

Oh, Thom Hartmann is also good! He's not as abrasive as say, Mike Malloy or Randi Rhodes, but he knows his stuff and is not afraid to take on Repugs.

The best shows are those that are live and take phone calls. Al Franken and Rachel Maddow are little boring as they don't speak with the audience.

Am I the only person who liked Marc Maron when he was on?

He probably is, but it's the stuck in the closet variety. Bottling all that inside you, bad things start to happen.
