onThe Pike/Pine Urban Neighborhood Coalition (PPUNC) wants you to put two meetings, both tomorrow, on your agenda:
Hello All,
1. There will be an important budget meeting at Seattle City Hall re: funds for increased staffing for the Seattle Police Department, specifically for an increase in the number of officers. For those around the city who are concerned about safety issues and various groups around Capitol Hill and elsewhere this may be a very significant meeting. It is at 600 4th Ave Seattle and starts at 5:30PM on Wednesday 11 October.
2. There is a meeting of the PPUNC Steering Committee at 2PM on Wednesday the 11th at the Rosebud Restaurant. As usual all are welcome. The agenda will include a preliminary presentation by the design/development team re: the ” Manray Block” on East Pike street.

It would be nice if underserved neighborhoods like Fremont and Ballard, which have seen even larger percentage increases in population and street drunks - especially since they created no-alcohol zones for you soft Hillers and Downtowners - got some increased police services - heck, or a station that's not 30 minutes away ...
we pay taxes and show up at meetings too.
Go to tomorrow's meeting and say so!
Wahhhh!!! WAhhhhh!!!!
It would be great if the meeting at Rosebud weren't held in the middle of the day, when most people are working.
Subscribe to their list. Get involved. Suggest a different time for the next meeting.
PPUNC almost certainly chose a time for their steering committee meeting that was determined to be convenient for the people who are on their steering committee. It would be different if they were holding a forum to gather public opinion at 2 p.m. on a weekday, but this is not the case; it's their steering committee meeting.
Or go on your lunch break.
Here's an idea: Get the cops outta Starbucks.
Thanks for posting this.
and i agree with Doug.
