Fantasy + Congress (not in the Mark Foley way)

posted by on October 23 at 11:20 AM

Let’s say you’re too nerdy to even play fantasy football. How will you possibly find a competitive way to waste time on the internets?

Welcome to Fantasy Congress.

As the NYT reports, today is the first day for the Fantasy Congress session. Draft a team of legislators and muscle your way to the top of the virtual Hill. Or buy a pun-laden shirt. Or just laugh at people who do either.

Yes, finding enjoyment in following politics is definitely something to be scorned and ridiculed. That's why The Daily Show is so unpopular. Good citizens should only grimly read the news out of a sense of duty and responsibility. Or, better yet, ignore it entirely.

Get a leg up on the competition by using the Congressional Power Rankings to draft your team.

I'm going to go for Democrats who stand to score big when they take control.
